The Movie Isn't Necessarily Dead Yet! Just Mostly...

Postby ori-STUDFARM » Sat Oct 06, 2012 1:52 pm

As we have known for a long time, the movie fell through. But GNP were keeping hold of the scripts in case it ever got given a new lease of life. Then Doug said that episode 6 of RDX features some elements adapted from the movie script. Which I took as meaning that the movie is probably well and trully dead forever.

However, I was listening to this podcast today-

And the interviewer asked Doug this very question. And Doug said he wrote lots of different drafts of the script and that using some of them in RDX's sixth episode (The Beginning) could easily enough be worked around.

So, at the moment, it is mostly dead....just not dead, dead yet! :)

That's good news, however a movie for me would feel like closure to the RD world. Kinda like Serenity was for the Firefly world.

Yeah. I can't help feeling that if they went movie route, they'd recast and do it as it's own seperate entity. And I'm not sure I would actually want that...

At this point, I'd much rather have more series than a movie... maybe with more of an arc-driven storyline, but keep it on the telly, I say.
