From the Cadmium 2 podcasters. Very high praise indeed!! Thiers is one of the first I discovered, being the only podcast to appear when the words "Dwarf" and "Red" were entered into iTunes. If you read this C2 crew, THANKS!! :D

Hi guys,

Paul from the C2 podcast here. Bit of a late response to your comments above but here I am!

You have a great show... really enjoyed the Back to Earth podcast :)

Ha! indeed. Back in the early 90s, Andrew and I sweated blood coming up with that name for a fanzine we were producing. And for various fan-related things we did over the years we kept using it to save us thinking up something else. So the podcast ended up being called it too...

As for your show, I take it you guys all contribute by phone/Skype? Are you all too far apart to meet up?

Ye we use Skype to record the podcast, with BassJunkie recording and then editing. Ye, it's a bit far for us to meet up every week. I live in Liverpool which is bit to far to travel every Mondaqy night ha! I think BassJunkie has improved so much over the first few weeks and the last podcast that went out sounded fantastic.

Am in the process of ordering a Mac which may help, fingers crossed. I keep getting a lot of feeback recently, hence not being on the latest episode. Do you record together or sperate like us?

I agree. It sounds good!

We meet up, usually once a month and record two or three shows over a weekend. Then, one week in November, we all have a week off and do a load. That gets us ahead for the next year. Given the distance between us it's good to have a stack of shows 'in the can' as it were. That way we can record the odd extra show if we want to.

For example, we release 2 shows a month and we only have 3 left to record to have all of this years output. Which we're doing over the next couple of months. We do the intro's closer to the release so we can be a bit more topical if stuff happens.

We all used to live in the same town. But ten years ago I got engaged and moved down to the coast, 150 miles away. I'm still here :)

Seems weird having Cadmium communications. Your is one of the first podcasts that wasn't BBC produced that I started listening to. It's taken only a short ammount of time for podcasts to take over my life!!

Evening Paulg, and thank for the comments :)

I would love it if we could all meet up, it would possibly give it that more "natural feel", however there is a couple of 100 miles between us all, so meeting up once a week probably wouldn't work.

I do however like the way you work, in theory, there is nothing stopping us from reviewing a number of episodes at once, then just splice in the "Red Dwarf news" sections..... :-k Hmmmm, may consider looking at doing series 2 like that :)

Anyway, keep up the good work over at Cadmium2, and we'll keep listening :)
