Welcome to the forum, an old Speccy gamer me thinks :)

Commando was a sideways scroller, kinda like Rambo or Robocop

Galaxians was an upwards platform scroller I think, kinda a shoot em up

And Chuckie Egg was a sideways scroller with an egg with legs, with a weird jump :).............ahhhh my early teens :)

Tetris on the DS still as playable as ever, great new gameplay modes & a nice retro nintendo feel to it all.

BTW I got namco's sequel to Galaxian on my phone Galaga (remember that ?).

Street Fighter 2 was over hyped, it was on the SNES about 2 years before it came out on the Mega Drive & when it finally came out I was totally unimpressed, mind you I did have to pay 60 quid for it. :(
