The Cat: Toung Tied

Postby vending machine 9 » Tue May 12, 2009 4:18 pm

Hi,

Can anyone explain why all references to the Danny John-Jules song Toung Tied is always referred to as Tongue Tied. I could not find any reference to it on the net under its proper spelling. Stupid niggle I know, just curious as to whether there is a reason for this.

That is weird. I always thought it was called "Tongue Tied". Never realised before that the correct spelling on the disc is "Toung". You learn something new everyday....now to go online and start correcting people!!!

Welcome to the forum also. Always a pleasure to see new members. :D

Thanks for the warm welcome :D

The show got my attention again after the Easter “Back to Earth” special. I went through my things and found the CD and the Smegazines.

The Smegazines are a great read and the stories would have made great episodes.

With regards to the spelling I guess its just one of those things, you would naturally expect it to be spelt in the normal way and I am sure that’s how they spelt it on the cover of the music video VHS tape.

And I was right they did

Anyhow, perhaps when the Red Dwarf Wiki starts to grow some details may pop up there. I don’t know enough about it to do it myself at the moment.

Ha,

I would never be that lucky, but if it is just a coc% up, that’s cool. Not taking itself too seriously or worrying about things like spelling is part of what makes Red Dwarf so enjoyable.

You say you have some of the Smegazines? They're worth a bit now. Someone on this forum paid quite a bit for them all recently!

Was a bit or a horder back then, still am really.

Not all the issues are in tip top condition, unlike the signed cd, which surprisingly is still top notch.

Got the smegazines around the same time as the terminator, predator and aliens comics. Must have been in storage for years. Thankfully at some point I transferred them to a plastic container box.

You got me thinking and I checked ebay, they have an auction for all 23 issues going for £26.03 with 19 hours to go. That’s not bad at all and its bound to get a lot higher right at the end.

I wonder if any of the stories are considered canon by fans as I seem to remember at least a few stories following on from episodes or being set in a particular time frame i.e. male/female Holly. :-k

I think I will keep my set, as I like them so much along with my other favourite accident man.
