Something wrong here. My modem kept disconnecting and reconnecting when I tried to do more than one thing at a time ie iTunes podcasts could only be downloaded one at a time to keep the connection alive. A new modem provided by the ISP seems to have stopped the disconnection problem (so far anyway. Only just tried it) but done nothing for my speed problem

ISP says that the exchange had detected the low usage from the other router and that it automatically reduces the bandwidth to the home. So the old router was working at about 0.5mb's per second. The exchange reduces the 8mb by half, then half again and continues until it is only sending me the current 0.5mbs.

Within 3 days, it should go back up all on it's own. Now I've accepted this, but suspect I am being gullible. Does this sound right to everyone else?

I was just tearing my hair out as I had 3 podcast downloads running. 1 was listing 30 minutes to download. The second 3 hours and the third 5 hours. I noticed the router went off line and was furious. It came back on almost straight away and I suddenly had 75 seconds, 2 minutes and 6 minutes showing. I quickly did a speed check and got

I'm just hoping it stays this high now!
