ScutterCast – Red Dwarf X

Posted by admin on October 3, 2012

On the eve of Red Dwarf X, we thought we’d give you an update on our plans for reviewing the new episodes.

We discussed recording an ‘instant reactions’ for all 6 episodes as we did with Back to Earth, and then the additional 6 ‘actual’ reviews at a later date once the DVD/Bluray had been release.

However, as the last episode will air on the 8th November and the DVD/Bluray release date is the 19th November, we’ve decided not to record an instant reactions, and just enjoy the shows as I’m sure we all will.

Once the DVD/Bluray is released, we’ll re-watch the episodes, watch the extras, and do our normal level of research and bring you 6 cracking ScutterCast episodes.

If you are missing our voices, the entire back catalog of the ScutterCast episodes can be found on iTunes, via Direct link, or even on Stitcher.

In the meantime, please feel free to join us in discussing the new episodes on the forum, on Facebook or via Twitter

The new home of the podcast

Posted by admin on May 14, 2012

You may have read my post the other day about moving podcast hosting…well, work is complete.

I’ve worked through the weekend, bringing all the podcasts to the reddwarfforum.com and no longer using the external podbean site.

What does this mean to you…well quite simply, if you would like to listen to a ScutterCast episode, you can now do that right here, simply select the episode post, and click play.

For each episode you can now find both the enhanced and the MP3 edition in the same post.

With the Enhanced edition being a apple specific .m4a file, you will need to have Quicktime installed on your machine to play them.

You can either watch/listen on the site, open in a new window or download to watch/listen later.

You’ll be happy to know that the iTunes links are the same, and can be subscribed using the link in the right hand column under links.

If people use other Podcast downloading software, you can find the link to the enhanced and mp3 edition in the right hand column also.

Finally, as a bit of a Brucey Bonus, if you access the site via a smartphone , you should now be able to play the episodes via that also.

Fingers crossed, everything has gone smooth, and there won’t be any issues, however if there is, please feel free to add a comment and let me know.

Cheers

Darren

Podcast host move…

Posted by admin on May 11, 2012

Due to the excellent service we receive from podbean, we’ve decided to host all the podcasts locally.

At present, the first 30 Scuttercasts seem to have broken links over at podbean, and their support via twitter and email is non existent……so over the weekend, I’ll be moving all the files locally and ditching the podbean sites.

What does this mean to you I hear you ask…..well it means the episodes may be unavailable for a few days while the feeds move over, however it does mean in future we’ll be in full control.

So, please, be patient, and we’ll get everything sorted for you….and yes, we’ll be back shortly with a new episode for you.

Darren
