“…the Smegheads are a thing from… em…, it’s from the Red Dwarf days, isn’t it? Which I can now announce – we’re going to be doing two more series of it. Starting in January next year.”

[Production guy, muffled since he clearly doesn’t have a mic, asks something like “Is that like a proper exclusive?”]

“That is an exclusive mate! What d’y’think?”

[Production guy: “That’s pretty impressive.”]

“Gone a bit nervous.”

[Pg: “Were you meant… are you allowed to say that?]

“Emmm… no. But I got the call today and it said ‘Craig, can you do it in January?’ I said ‘Yeah, I’ll sort it out.’ So I will be able to do it in January and… emm… I’m a bit nervous though – I don’t know if I’ll be able to fit into leather trousers anymore.”

I’ve just received the below email from the official Red Dwarf Fan Club regarding this years Dimension Jump

After much deliberation the Fan Club team has decided that Dimension Jump XVI will be postponed until April 8^th, 9^th and 10^th 2011. Unfortunately the number of registrations we have received up until this point is too low for us to be able to go ahead with this year’s event. Any registrations made so far will be valid for the new date. However, we appreciate that the new date may not be suitable for everyone, so if you wish to cancel your registration you may do so for a full refund until Saturday 31^st July 2010. Please email red___dwarf@hotmail.co.uk to request your refund. Any cancellation requests received between the 1^stAugust 2010- 28^th February 2011 will be entitled to the standard 50% refund. If you cancel a current registration now and decide to repurchase later you will be liable to pay the current registration rate. The venue will be the same but any hotel bookings will need to be amended. Please call the hotel directly on: +44 (0)121 6346202 or +44 (0)121 6346223. They are aware of the postponement and will help you to change your booking if you wish to do so. The Holiday Inn, Birmingham have advised us of a forthcoming price change, so rooms for April 2011 will be £70 for a single and £84 for a twin/double, both prices include breakfast.  Please note: If you wish to cancel completely you still need to contact the hotel to cancel your room booking. Thank you for your patience – we’re just as disappointed as you that we’re unable to hold a convention this year, but we hope to see you all in April for the best DJ yet!
